Approximate Area From Your Connection
When the page opens, it asks our own server which area your internet connection comes from. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, already works this out from your IP address for every visit; the page only receives the city and its coordinates to show a first result. Nothing is stored, logged or shared by Qibla Finder, and no other company is asked. The result is marked as approximate.
Your Exact Location Stays on Your Device
When you tap "Use my location", your browser asks for permission and then gives the position to the page. The qibla direction, the magnetic correction and the distance are worked out in the page itself. Your exact location, the city you search and the result are not sent to Qibla Finder or to any other service.
The city list is a file the page downloads once; searching it happens on your device.
Compass and Motion Sensors
The live compass reads your phone's orientation sensors only while it is switched on. On iPhone, Safari asks for permission first. The readings are used to turn the dial and are not stored or sent anywhere.
What Is Saved in Your Browser
The tool remembers the last location you used in your browser's local storage so the result is ready next time. It stays on your device. The "Forget location" button removes it, and clearing your browser's site data removes it too.
Share Links
If you tap Share, the link contains the coordinates shown on screen, rounded to four decimal places (about 11 metres). Anyone you send the link to can see those coordinates. Nothing is shared unless you tap Share.
Hosting Logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and block attacks. Qibla Finder does not use these logs to identify visitors.
Cookies and Advertising
Qibla Finder sets no cookies and shows no ads at the moment. If analytics or ads are added later, this page will be updated first and will name the provider.
